Benefits and Limitations

Hohem’s AI-powered gimbals offer several advantages:

  • Automatic Subject Tracking: Maintains focus on the subject during movement—valuable for vloggers and filmmakers filming dynamic scenes.

  • Portability: Devices weigh between 150g and 800g.

  • Versatility: Features such as built-in tripods and compatibility with smartphones, action cameras, and some tablets.

  • Battery Life: Up to 8–13 hours depending on device and usage mode.

Potential challenges include:

  • AI Tracking Performance: May be less effective in complex environments with rapid movement or multiple subjects—a limitation shared by most consumer AI tracking solutions.

  • Learning Curve: Some advanced features, such as the touchscreen controller, may require user adaptation.

  • Competitive Pricing: Retail pricing ranges from US$159 to $299, which is competitive in the market but could face pressure from smartphones with increasingly sophisticated built-in stabilization features.
