The third edition of InnoEX, co-organized by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 13 to 16, 2025. The event featured over 2,800 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions, attracting approximately 88,000 visitors.

Smart Hong Kong Pavilion: AI-Driven Public Services

The Digital Policy Office (DPO) presented the Smart Hong Kong Pavilion, showcasing over 100 innovation and technology solutions developed by 20 government departments and local innovators. These solutions spanned six smart city categories: Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart Environment, Smart People, Smart Government, and Smart Economy.

A notable feature was the "iAM Smart" platform, a one-stop personalized digital services platform enabling users to access over 1,100 government, public, and private online services. As of March 31, 2025, the platform had over 3.4 million registered users and facilitated more than 135 million service usages.

AI Applications in Public Services

Hong Kong Customs introduced "XiaoHui", an AI-powered virtual assistant developed in collaboration with Asiabots. XiaoHui provides real-time responses to entry and exit inquiries at various control points, including Hong Kong International Airport and the West Kowloon Station.

Advancements in Urban Air Mobility

The low-altitude economy was a focal point at InnoEX 2025. Aerofugia showcased its AE200 eVTOL prototype, a five to six-seat tilt-rotor aircraft designed for urban air mobility, with a range of 200 kilometers.

JOUAV presented its CW-15 VTOL drone, featuring a 180-minute endurance and a 3kg payload capacity. The drone is suitable for applications such as geographic mapping, urban inspection, and emergency response.

Strategic Positioning in the Greater Bay Area

InnoEX 2025 aligns with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative, aiming to foster regional collaboration and innovation. Preferential tax policies, such as a 15% enterprise income tax rate for high-tech firms in zones like Hengqin and Nansha, are part of efforts to attract talent and investment.
